Aluminium Capping Strip

Many people out of the aluminium industry would easily mistake the aluminium capping strip for aluminum coil sheet for ropp caps at the first sight. Since there’s the word “capping”, it’s understandable for some people to think this way. In addition to sheet and roll types, there do be strip and tape types of aluminium for ropp caps. While used for ropp caps, the aluminium strip is usually of 8011 h14, 8011 h16 and 3003 h16.

While most of the time the aluminium capping strip is used in suspended ceilings made from mineral fiber panels. It covers the connection between two panels and enhances the appearance of the ceiling support structure. Most of the time the strip is coated by a coating system which ensures a perfect surface finish and optimum paint adhesion, even at the tight bend radii on the edges. Narrow and thin-gauge painted strips are also applied to the visible surfaces of the T-shaped construction rails. In addition, an aluminium capping strip helps to strengthen the support power for two adjoining ceiling panels.

Coating on front side: Single coat of polyester lacquer

Coating on reverse side: Protective lacquer coating
