Non-stick aluminum circle/ aluminum disc for pot

March 13, 2020

A non-stick aluminum circle/ aluminum disc for pot can not be made of 1xxx aluminum. 3003 and 5052 would be a better choice. These are representatives of two levels of aluminum discs for non-stick cookers as well.

3003 aluminum circle contains aluminium and manganese, known as a corrosion resistant circle alloy. It has excellent forming ability, high grain fineness and smooth surface. With a corrosion resistance is close to that of industrial pure aluminum, it has good corrosion resistance to atmosphere, fresh water, sea water, food, organic acid, gasoline, neutral inorganic salt solution, etc., and it also has good corrosion resistance in dilute acid. In spite of advantages above as a raw material for non-stick pots, the circle displays nonuniform color after being anodized, so anodizing is generally not carried out. In comparison, 5052 aluminum circle for cookwares shows an excellent anodizing effect. Anodizing, however, does not make an aluminum disc non-stick. Paints do. Therefore, pot manufacturers usually purchase mill finish circles to further stretch them into shapes they need and then coat paint on the surface.

In general, 5052 circles overshadows 3003 in hardness, weight, tensile strength, elongation, fatigue resistance, grain fineness and surface quality. Nevertheless, alloy is not the only factor influencing quality of an aluminum circle. Thickness proves to be important as well. Thin circles will never become pots better than those of thick discs. Haomei now has five automatic production lines for aluminum wafer, with a monthly production capacity of 2000 tons, covering most of the alloys on the market, including 1 series, 3 series, 5 series, 6 series and 8 series that meet the European and North American export standards.
