Among the various specifications of color-coated aluminum coils, RAL 9016 + 3105 aluminum alloy + H18 temper is a typical scenario-specific product. With over ten years of experience in the industry, I often tell clients that when making outdoor white roller blinds and exterior wall panels, don’t blindly choose 3003 H18—it has sufficient rigidity but its corrosion resistance is average—and don’t choose pure aluminum H18 either—it’s prone to deformation and yellowing. Aluminum Coil 3105 H18 paired with RAL 9016 is the balanced solution that takes into account rigidity, corrosion resistance, and whiteness stability. This is also one of the fastest-growing white high-rigidity specifications in our export orders over the past five years.
Aluminum coil 3105 H18 RAL 9016 uses 3105 aluminum-manganese-magnesium alloy as its base material, H18 fully hardened temper. Standard supply thickness is 0.3~1.2mm, effective width is 500~1650mm, and core inner diameter covers three standard sizes: 150mm, 405mm, and 508mm. Thickness tolerance is stably controlled within ±0.02mm, and width tolerance within ±0.5mm. Alloy composition is strictly controlled: manganese 1.0~1.7%, magnesium 0.2~0.8%, impurities silicon ≤0.6%, iron ≤0.7%, copper ≤0.3%, low-copper formula reduces the risk of electrochemical corrosion at the source. In terms of mechanical properties, the H18 temper has a tensile strength of 205~260MPa, yield strength ≥180MPa, and elongation ≥3%. Compared to 3003 H14 aluminum coil of the same thickness, the yield strength is increased by more than 40%, and wind load resistance and dent resistance are significantly enhanced.

RAL 9016 is a cool-toned traffic white, distinct from the warm-toned milky white of RAL 9010, better suited to the minimalist style of modern architecture and transportation facilities. Haomei Aluminum’s color matching strictly adheres to the RAL standard color chart, employing a rutile titanium dioxide system using the chloride process. The batch-to-batch color difference ΔE ≤ 0.8, and the color difference between the first and last colors of the same roll ≤ 0.5, making the difference virtually indistinguishable to the naked eye. The standard coating uses high-weather-resistant polyester (HDP), with a total dry film thickness of 20~24μm, including a primer of 5~7μm. For outdoor high-corrosion areas, an upgraded PVDF fluorocarbon coating is available, with a dry film thickness ≥ 25μm. Pretreatment employs a chromium-free passivation process, forming a dense conversion film of 50~80nm. The coating achieves a cross-cut adhesion rating of 0, shows no bubbling or peeling during a 240-hour neutral salt spray test, and exhibits a yellowing index ΔE ≤ 2.0 after 1000 hours of accelerated aging under xenon lamp lighting.
From a practical production perspective, 3105 painted aluminum coil with high hardness are most prone to two types of problems: surface graining and excessive springback during molding. Our solutions are: before color change production, a thorough cleaning of the coating line’s roller system and furnace cavity is performed throughout the entire process; the workshop maintains a Class 10 positive pressure clean environment to reduce surface defects at the source; an additional intermediate homogenizing annealing step is added during the rolling process to control the residual stress of the coil below 60MPa, significantly reducing warping and springback after molding. These two optimizations are based on experience honed from hundreds of tons of export orders and can improve the customer’s finished product yield by 12%~15%.
RAL 9016 3105 h18 aluminum coil is mainly suitable for applications such as roller shutters and windows, exterior wall cladding, traffic signs, and factory perimeter fencing. Two practical suggestions for processing: Due to the high hardness of the H18 state, the bending radius should be no less than twice the plate thickness, combined with a slow bending rate to avoid micro-cracks and coating chipping at the bending points; for the shearing process, carbide cutting tools are recommended to reduce burrs on the cut surface.
