Solar Reflector Aluminum Sheets

October 16, 2026

In solar thermal and concentrated photovoltaic (CPV) systems, the light-concentration efficiency and outdoor service life of the reflective substrate directly determine the overall system’s energy generation/collection costs and return on investment. Haomei Aluminum has developed specialized reflector aluminum sheets tailored for outdoor solar applications. Offering precise full-spectrum reflectivity, a robust long-term weather-protection system, and excellent formability, our reflective aluminum sheet products serve as reliable, high-performance reflective substrates for parabolic trough solar thermal power plants, vacuum tube collectors, and linear concentrating systems globally.

Solar Reflector Aluminum Sheets

Regarding core optical performance, our aluminium reflector sheet products are optimized for the entire solar radiation spectrum (300 nm–2500 nm). We utilize high-purity 1060 or 1070 aluminum alloys—with an aluminum content of ≥99.6% and a refined, uniform grain structure—to ensure an ideal foundation for full-spectrum reflection. Through an ultra-precision mirror-polishing process, surface roughness is controlled to Ra ≤ 0.02 μm, resulting in a stable total solar spectrum reflectivity of 92%–95%, with diffuse reflection kept below 3%. This delivers an improvement in light-concentration efficiency of over 20% compared to standard anodized aluminum sheets. Every batch undergoes rigorous point-by-point testing using a spectrophotometer, with traceable spectral reflection reports provided. Our testing standards comply with ASTM E903 and ISO 23603, ensuring that all optical parameters align precisely with design specifications.

Outdoor weather resistance is the core competitive advantage for solar reflective materials. Drawing on over a decade of experience in exporting aluminum materials for the solar energy, we have observed that efficiency degradation in most projects stems not from insufficient initial reflectivity, but from the oxidation and contamination of the mirror surface caused by the failure of protective layers in outdoor environments. To address this, our aluminium reflector sheet product utilizes transparent hard-coat anodizing —to create a dense, uniform protective layer. It withstands over 1,000 hours of neutral salt spray testing (ASTM B117) with no signs of corrosion or coating delamination. Following 3,000 hours of QUV ultraviolet aging tests, reflectivity degradation remains ≤2%, with no surface chalking or cracking. The material is designed to endure thermal cycling between -40°C and 85°C, making it suitable for extreme climates, including deserts, coastal regions, and high-altitude areas. In a 10MW parabolic trough solar thermal project in the Middle East, where our materials have been in continuous outdoor operation for three years, on-site sampling confirms that reflectivity remains above 94% of the initial value—outperforming comparable products.

Regarding specifications and forming compatibility, our aluminium reflector sheet products are available in thicknesses ranging from 0.4mm to 2.0mm, with a standard maximum width of 1,600mm; they can be supplied as cut-to-size sheets or in full coils. The sheets feature a flatness of ≤0.3mm/m², allowing for direct cutting and assembly. The coils are seamless, making them ideal for automated, continuous roll-forming and stamping production lines, which significantly reduces material waste from splicing and lowers labor costs. With excellent plasticity—achieving a minimum bending radius of 1.5 times the sheet thickness—the material can be shaped into various concentrating structures, such as parabolic surfaces, curved profiles, or corrugated forms, catering to diverse applications including parabolic trough collectors, Fresnel concentrators, and reflectors for vacuum tube collectors.
