1000 series pure aluminum coils have consistently been the largest-volume and most widely applicable basic aluminum material in my experience with small and medium-sized projects, general industrial applications, and decorative orders. As a core category of commercial pure aluminum, 1000 series aluminum coils has an aluminum content of ≥99%, with no complex alloying elements added. Thanks to its stable physical and chemical properties, excellent processability, and extremely high cost-effectiveness, it has become the most versatile and widely recognized aluminum coil category in the global market. It is also Haomei Aluminum’s core product with regular mass production and the most abundant stock.

The 1000 series pure aluminum coils have very distinct core characteristics. Unlike 3000 series, 5000 series, and 6000 series alloy aluminum coils, it cannot be strengthened through heat treatment, but it excels in plasticity, corrosion resistance, and thermal and electrical conductivity. At the same time, the product has a high surface finish, free of oxide black spots and peeling, making it extremely easy to perform secondary processing such as bending, stamping, spraying, and anodizing, perfectly adapting to various basic industrial and civilian applications. Based on years of export data, the return rate of this series of aluminum coils is significantly lower than other alloy series. The core reason is the stable material composition, mature processing technology, and compatibility with global procurement standards.
In export practice, the three most commonly used grades are 1060, 1050, and 1100. Subtle differences in their compositions correspond to different specific applications, which is also the core basis for my precise selection for clients.
1060 aluminum coil has an aluminum content of ≥99.6% and boasts the best electrical and thermal conductivity among the 1000 series, achieving a conductivity of up to 62% IACS. It is primarily used in electrical equipment, transformer windings, and heat exchange components, and is the first choice for overseas electrical customers.
1050 aluminum coil has an aluminum content of ≥99.5%, offering balanced and stable performance, excellent corrosion resistance, and extremely high cost-effectiveness. It is widely used in building insulation, exterior wall decoration, chemical pipeline protection, and general signage production, and is the mainstream choice for infrastructure orders.
The 1100 aluminum coils have a slightly increased copper content, resulting in stronger deep-stamping and stretching properties, and are less prone to cracking. They are specifically designed for complex forming processes such as hardware accessories and tank shells.
Regarding product conditions, export orders primarily use O-temper, H14, and H18. The O-temper is soft and suitable for bending and deep-drawing; the H14 semi-hard state balances toughness and hardness, making it a versatile choice for building insulation and decoration; the H18 fully hard state offers higher hardness, suitable for signage and thin-plate processing where flatness and rigidity are required. Specifications cover mainstream export thicknesses from 0.2mm to 3.0mm, with ample stock of standard widths of 1220mm and 1500mm.
Based on years of industry experience, I consistently recommend that customers with general-purpose needs prioritize the 1000 series pure aluminum coils. Compared to other alloy aluminum coils, this series avoids the premium of expensive alloy elements, resulting in less price fluctuation, lower procurement costs, and a simpler, more mature production process with a shorter delivery cycle. Haomei relies on its fully automated rolling production line to strictly control tolerances and surface precision, avoiding common problems in pure aluminum coils such as uneven thickness and surface scratches, ensuring stable export quality.
The 1000 series pure aluminum coils are not high-end specialty aluminum materials, they are indispensable basic materials in the industrial and infrastructure sectors. With their stable performance, excellent cost-effectiveness, and wide applicability, they have long dominated the mainstream aluminum coil export market and are the optimal entry-level choice for new overseas customers placing trial orders or for long-term, essential purchases.
