1050 H16 Aluminum Sheet

October 30, 2026

The 1050 H16 aluminum sheet is a 3/4-hardened grade within the 1xxx series of industrial pure aluminum. Through cold-rolling work-hardening, it achieves superior structural rigidity while retaining a sufficient degree of plasticity. It serves as a specialized substrate for electronic springs, precision shims, durable signage, and heat dissipation components. As a professional aluminum sheet supplier, Haomei’s long-term supply data indicates that this specific temper functions as a specialized, performance-oriented category; while its usage volume may not be as broad as the H14 (half-hard) temper, it remains an indispensable choice for applications requiring specific levels of rigidity and resistance to spring-back.

The high-purity chemical composition is the fundamental prerequisite for consistent product performance. The 1050 alloy is manufactured in strict accordance with the ASTM B209 standard, containing ≥99.50% aluminum, ≤0.40% iron, and ≤0.25% silicon, with other impurities—such as copper, manganese, and magnesium—controlled to below 0.05%. This exceptionally low impurity content ensures excellent electrical and thermal conductivity, as well as strong resistance to atmospheric corrosion. Furthermore, it guarantees a uniform appearance following surface treatment, preventing the occurrence of localized dark spots or color inconsistencies. For clients in the signage and decorative sectors, an anodizing substrate with high purity offers superior stability, ensuring more consistent color across mass-produced batches.

The H16 temper achieves enhanced rigidity through precise cold-rolling deformation, resulting in a well-defined performance profile. Produced solely via work hardening—with a cold-rolling reduction of approximately 75% and no subsequent annealing—this temper (for standard 1050 aluminum sheet thicknesses of 0.2 mm to 3.0 mm) maintains core mechanical properties within a stable, standardized range: a tensile strength of 120–160 MPa, a 0.2% proof stress (yield strength) of 110–130 MPa, an elongation at break of 6%–10%, and a Brinell hardness of approximately 40 HB. Compared to the H14 (half-hard) temper, it offers a ~25% increase in yield strength, providing significantly better resistance to denting and springback. Meanwhile, compared to the H18 (full-hard) temper, it retains roughly double the elongation, allowing for simple, small-angle bending and shallow stamping with a lower risk of cracking. In terms of dimensional precision, thickness tolerances for standard thin aluminum sheets are controlled within ±0.03 mm, with a surface flatness of ≤0.3 mm/m. The material is free from roller marks or scratches, making it ready for direct integration into precision stamping production lines.

The combination of high rigidity and the inherent properties of pure aluminum defines a precise application niche for 1050 H16 aluminum sheet product. Its primary application is in the electronics and electrical sector, where it is frequently used for elastic contact springs, connecting shims, battery tabs, and cooling fins—leveraging both the necessary elastic recovery and structural rigidity, alongside the excellent electrical and thermal conductivity of pure aluminum. For instance, an overseas client in the electronic connector industry initially used the 1050 H14 for contact springs, which led to issues with insufficient elasticity and contact failure. After switching to the H16 temper, the fatigue resistance of the springs improved by over 40%, and the production yield for the parts remained consistently above 99%. In the hardware and decorative sectors, the material is commonly used for wear-resistant metal signage, stationery clips, and shallow-stamped hardware components; finished products resist deformation over long-term use and exhibit a refined metallic texture following surface treatment. In the chemical and food processing industries, these materials are used for anti-corrosive gaskets and sealing liners; they are non-toxic, corrosion-resistant, and offer a degree of resistance to compression.

Haomei Aluminum’s 1050 H16 aluminum sheets are available in a full thickness range from 0.2 mm to 4.0 mm, with widths customizable via slitting between 100 mm and 1600 mm. Products can be supplied in three forms: coils, cut-to-length sheets, or custom-sized blanks. With readily available stock, standard orders can be processed for dispatch and customs clearance within seven days. Each shipment includes protective PE film, moisture-proof packaging, and a comprehensive material test report, ensuring a stable and reliable supply of high-rigidity, pure aluminum sheets for clients worldwide across the electronics, hardware, and decorative sectors.
